Bought another domain name-now what?

I've just bought www.birminghamphotographer.co.uk :)
Not too sure what to do with it. There is an option with my hosting to redirect to an external site (ie my current one) or would it be better to copy my existing site onto it or thirdly put a different site up with a clickable link to mine??

Any ideas much appreciated.

You should be aware of duplicate content issues and having 2 domains with exactly the same content.

If you redirect do a 301.

You could create a satellite site, possibly a blog or something that is in some way related to your main site and will pick up additional and synonymous keywords that are related to your business.

Copying your entire existing site it's wrong...don't do that. You have two options as Codefixer said above: a 301 redirect or build a blog on it. I would go for the second option. Build a nice blog, post unique and fresh content on a regular basis, try to promote it a bit and advertise your main business site on the homepage. Once the blog will get stronger, you will benefit from additional traffic and why not, more business.

A blog or a satellite site would be a good option. You can frequently add quality content to your blog and then link relevant keywords to your main website. It shouldn't be difficult to get a wordpress theme customised and get going.

Since you have a ample experience in your field, writing frequent blog posts should not be that difficult, unless you are short on time. Blog would rank better with fresh quality content and users will follow links to your website. Also the new domain has a keyword in it and should rank fairly good for that particular keyword with less effort.

Thanks all, I've got a blog on my main site which I haven't switched on yet so I'll have a look at putting some content on related to my main site.

The only one which would be any use is put up a new site........I'm sure you should know what you're going to do with a domain before you buy it!? :D
