Are there any Dry Cleaner, Laundry or Ironing business owners on here that use a Touch Screen EPOS system for ticketing and customer tracking?

I'm shopping around for a system and would love some feedback from existing users.

Many thanks,

Chris

Thanks Trough Lights - which guys are you refering too? :)

I'm really looking for somebody in the industry who is currently using an epos system and can give me some feedback on how they find it. There seem to be a large number of suppliers and I want to ensure I buy right first time round.

icrtouch are a software developer on the isle of wight and do not supply direct - you need one of their resellers.

Where abouts are you? - edit oops i see you are in manchester!

Also worth considering the Casio QT6000 terminal -this has a dry cleaning spec. It is not PC based so has some advantages and disadvatages over pc based, but can be worth a look if you want a simple system.

two companies in that area that i know of are MCR and GS systems.

GS - http://www.gs-epos.com/ A large well established reputable epos company - they installed the epos at the Millenium Dome!

MCR - Ask for John Rourke 0151 226 4258 - well established, John is a top bloke.

ICR Have Developed their own software for their epos systems and can do custom if requested. They also supply a complete package as many businesses around the south use them. :)

im well aware of icrtouch - ive installed enough of them. Im just saying they dont deal direct (they have a sister company that installs on the IoW and south coast) - they resell their software. It is also installed nationwide (there are also some installations overseas)- they have just passed 20,000 licences sold.

It is a very popular product within the reseller market and there are some very experienced installers.

Thanks for your replies. I was really looking for input from somebody who used an epos system in the dry cleaning / laundry world and could give some constructive feedback on how they find their epos system.

Having been through all the available packages I have decided to go with Spot Computerized Business Systems. There offering seems to do everything I require.

Please can you let me know how it has been using the "Spot" system?
Did you ever consider "Dry Stream"?
What swung it for you to use "Spot" to any other?
Hope it is all going well a year in ;)

I own a chain of launderettes and would recommend not bothering with an EPOS system, my stores have a simple till for cashing up on, and a well organized manual ticket system. Cheaper, easier and they dont break! good luck
