Does anyone know how long it would take from putting card details into a virtual terminal/someone checking out, to being able to charge a card as it’s been cleared for fraud?

I'm thinking about with someone like Iridium.

Cheers :)

Having had a look at Protx, it seems it's a few second for authorisation.

Hi

You found the answer yourself and yes, I use protx and all transactions are instant unless there is a problem with the card of course. You get the money on your account within 3 working days.

Thanks for clarifying that - I'm used to Google Checkout which often takes 15 - 30 mins to clear the payment through :)

It also depends if "pre-auth" is in use and how long the merchant takes to authorise the payment.

Cheers Carl - would someone like Iridium or Protx use 'pre-auth'? Sorry if I've misunderstood the context of it :)

Protx do - but it's not a necessity.

Thanks - is that where they make sure the account has funds and temporarily allocate them?

Cheers

No. They make sure the card... exists & the details are correct.
