I have 2 problems on prestashop before im ready to launch.
The first is the shipping. Im looking to do shipping at a straight £3 per order (Not per item). The standard preinstalled shipping charged £7 which i tried editing with no luck, i then deleted by mistake and have added a new shipping but i just can not set the price.
My other problem is the pages (Conditions, about us, shipping etc) how do i update those?
Cheers

Hi
You can do the textual changes by going to Tools:
1. Select CMS
2. Select the page you want to edit.
3. You will have a editor showing up for changing the pages.
For the shipping part:
1. Click on Shipping
2. Click on Carriers
3. Create a new carrier or you could just edit an existing Carrier ( My Carrier )
4. Save the changes
5. Go to Price Ranges
6. Put in value from : 0 and to: 99999. ( or you may edit the my carrier default values )
7. Save the changes
8. Go to Weight Ranges.
9. Put in values from:0 and to: 99999 ( or you may edit the my carrier default values )
10. Save the changes.
11. Click on Shipping main module.
12. Set the Handling charges to 0 or change the handling starting price to a very high value. This will set so that the handling charges will never come into picture.
13. Now Save the changes.
14. In the fees section, select the carrier module you had selected before and put the value of 3 euro for each of the zone you want the shipping to be enabled.
That should fix the shipping issue for you. If in doubt, please let me know and I will help you out.
Warm Regards,
Hari

Looks like i have messed up as it doesnt list the places for fees. I deleted everywhere that wasnt UK based and now nohing is appearing in the fees box.
As for the other problem, you said go to CMS - i do not have that option :S

You shouldn't have deleted everything that was UK based, you should have just disabled it. You may want to reinstall a new version of Presta.
To update the Conditions etc, you have two options. You either find the relevant page in the database and updated it there, or an easier one is if you go into the Translation section, open everything up, and put your Conditions in as the translation for the word Conditions (or whatever it is). This will then populate the page with your "translation".
You can use HTML in this bit, and it's easier typing it out in Notepad or something first, then pasting it in.

Ive installed the new version of Prestashop whilst i was at it, which had the cms included. So i have now updated the pages but the postage still isnt working.
This may sound really stupid but i have just been adding items to the cart and then seing if it added postage, but would i need to be registered for it to know where i live in order to determine how much postage will be?

Hi Tony
Try going to module. There you should be able to find a Home text editor. Click on configure and you will be able to edit the text.
For the featured products issue you just need to add in the products to the Home category. You can modify the settings on number of products shown in the modules section -> Featured Products on the homepage. You can do the assigning of products in the Catalog page.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Hari

Hi Tony
I'm not trying to put you off posting queries here, and I wouldn't normally recommend another forum, but if you go to http://www.prestashop.com/forums/, and use their search facility, you'll find that all of the questions you've asked here have already been asked and answered.
So you'll find your solutions quicker.
But feel free to keep posting here if you need to. I've got a few Presta stores so will be happy to help.

Thanks Hari - Your a legend at this.
Stampy, i was debating doing that but i dont really like giving my email address out for websites that i will only use once or twice if i can help it. We have our very own prestashop guru here anyway so i managed to get away with it. I don think there is anything else i will struggle with (Fingers Crossed)

Hi all,
I've read the instructions on how to setup a carrier, but when I setup a carrier I don't see it being displayed when checking out. All I see is a message stating there is now carrier available. How come? all my price range rules are applied and I have the chosen the right country with zone.
Please help!!:|

Hi is there anyway on Prestashop to give the customers an option for 2 different couriers.
For example I may want to do shipping based on Weight for Royal Mail
and based on amount for insured courier or parcelforce which would be based on price or shipping
Thanks
Simon
