Hi

I am wondering if anyone has any advice on doing an exhibition or show on a larger scale.

At the moment I have been doing some smaller shows and fayres (approx 3 000 footfall per day) but I am looking at doing a larger event in the middle of next year with a footfall of around 135 000 over 5 days. I sell clothing and gifts.

Is the price per square meter justified? ie: if I get a 2m x 3m stand will it do better than x 2m x 2m (in the same location) or is it more about the products, presentation and display?

Would the extra amount be justified if I went for a larger stand (say 3m x 3m) so I could put out more products and make more of a presence?

Also, does anyone have an opinion if it better to have an open stand people can walk into or a table displaying the products as they walk past?

Thanks for the help

The large amount of investment of renting a stand can be justified if you use sales agents on the stand, they work on commision and a small fee and are expert in selling,

hint: i work for the worlds largest sales agency

We do exhibitions all over the UK for clients...one of the secrets is to make your stand look different. Go to a few exhibitions and see how all the stands (most of which look great one their own) blend into one another.

Think colour schemes (most of them will either be blue or white) blue is the typical business colour and again fine on its own but 70% of the other stands are blue…you can’t see the woods from the trees. The other biggest mistake is not making it VERY clear what you do, you’d be amazed at how much people spend on a stand and it does not spell out in very clear language what they do. Loads of other advice but get those two nuked and you are standing head and shoulders above 70% of the other stands.

I can put you in contact with a person I work with who specialises in exhibition marketing. It'll have to be in the new year now as she's off away with family 'till then. PM your details and I'll pass them on to her and get her to contact you
