I have recently purchased a domain that I quite like and have decided to develop it into a website.

The domain is shoppingqueen.co.uk.

I have started to build the website and because of the name shopping Queen have decided to aim it more towards ladies looking for shopping deals and reviews.

The site is going to be 100% Free for the viewers and Busineses wishing to advertise.

There is a main section for Shopping Categories and also a section with the same categories where businesses can upload any offers and promotions that they have to offer.

I have also added a area where customers can add reviews on High Street Shops and offers as well as online stores.

Im not sure weather to add sections for hairdressers and eating out or if it this would be going off the Shopping Queen original idea.

After looking around some of these websites, there is far to much information on one page and also a lot of hassle to advertise your business which can be very off putting.

I want to keep the website simple and make it very useful for all ladies shoppers as well as a 100% free place for businesses to advertise.

I have been asking lots of ladies feedback and it has been very useful.

Any thoughts and Feedback would be great

Regards

Gavin Rookyard

Hi Gavin,

We launched our website www.seasonsonline.co.uk (http://www.seasonsonline.co.uk) just in early November and things are starting to go pretty well. I personally like your domain name and think it will work very well with the product and target audience you are aiming for. Our domain name is not so obvious, but we wanted it to be generic enough to eventually implement other products.- You might want to bear that in mind, just in case you decide in the future that you want to add products for men.- Not a huge problem, but worth noting.

With regards to advertising on your website and offering free advertising space. The feedback and professional advice I have had so far is that it is definately better to keep your site nice and simple.- Less is definately more in my opinion. Apparently, by allowing more and more companies to advertise and put links on your site, this will eventually have a negative and detrimental effect on your Google ranking. Obviously Google take other factors into account as well but the general consensus from professionals I have dealt with is " Keep your website YOURS, and keep it nice and simple".

If you want me to give you more info then please pm me and I will be more than happy to help.

I have just looked at your website.

It looks great.

Thank you you for the advice I will take this all onboard and will certainly pm you at some point for some advice.

I currently run a Jewellery Business Myself. Maybe we can help each other out with tips and advice in the future.
