How much does the average business spend on buying stock when first starting up? Also do many use there own funds or get some form of credit?
Just curious... Thanks:)

I guess it depends on the size of the start up business and what they sell.
If you were going to be trading cars, or diamonds or JCBs you'd probably spend more on stock than someone starting a fruit and veg stall.

A pretty meaningless question as the answer would only apply to an average company and the range of different types and sizes of start-ups is so massive that what applies to the average wouldn't apply to any other companies. A small corner shop isn't going to spend anything like as much on stock as a jewellers or a car showroom or other high ticket retailer. Likewise an engineering start-up may spend almost noting on "stock" compared to what they spend on plant, staff and site costs.
Care to be a little more specific as to the type of company you are thinking about?
