Hi , My family are getting into the area of retail which I know is a risky place to be going atm but they want to make it work. Is there anyone on here that will allow me to email them and keep in contact throughtout the process, I have a few silly wee questions that could help and just some general advice really on stock ect ect.
Kind Regards
Gavin

I decided to carry on with the designing , My parents and I were going to open it together but I have decided that its not for me any longer. My parents have decided to go with it, PART of the problem is I do not have the money to pump into it

It doesn't matter too much what you sell, the principles are the same.

Hi Gavin
Don't worry about it 'being a bad time' - it's the best time at the moment to start. The reason being if you can start a successful business or one that at least pays the bill when times are meant to be hard then when the going good you'll reap the rewards. The other way round means you will go under as soon as things get sticky.
My Sister opened a shop about 6 months ago now and is doing a roaring trade - even considering opening a second in the new year while rents are low.
Go for it and if you'd like any help with layout and the psychology involved in shopping, give me a shout :)
Good luck!
