Underwear

I want to sell mens underwear but i want to create my own. any ideas on how i go about this?

I have looked at manufacturers but they are selling their own stuff and i want to basically create my own brand.

I would really appreciate any help or advice from anyone.

I must admit I spent a bit of time on Google trying to find something that may be useful to you, and came up with very little! I don't know anyone who has made their own underwear - all the people I know in that industry sell branded goods.

I suspect your biggest problem is finding someone who will make them for you. Most manufacturers will probably want quite large quantities to make it worth their while. You could ask at http://threads.fuk.co.uk/index.php which is a fashion forum and see what response you get.

The final point is perhaps to contact your local Business Link at http://www.businesslink.gov.uk who should have some idea of where to start.

If you have not resolved yet, try asking in The Sewing Forum (http://www.thesewingforum.co.uk) (which I administrate). At least two of our members have designed lingerie and some design and make clothes for retail sale as well as direct.

There are lots of underwear manufacturers in places like Leicester & Nottingham. Submit your patterns & your own material (otherwise you maybe supplied cheap or unethical cotton from Central Asia).
They'll be able to do sampling + production runs happily for you.

I was looking at doing something similar but for women. Thanks for the link to that forum.

I was thinking of contacting a manfacturer direct but then had other thoughts as i imagine they would be looking at purchases of a few hundred. I would be intrigued to find out how much it would costs to get say 100 items made up on an initial basis.

Something i may look into further towards the end of the year but if i find anything i will put it here.
