Please bear in mind the strikes planned for the 19th December. This will undoubtably cause backlogs in the associated mail centres.

We did this last year and it caused a big old headache! This year I have made no promises to anyone... We still seem to get as many orders.
God knows why people trust the post system this time of year. Internet shopping may be the future but for my Xmas shop I still prefer on mammoth run round the town center so I know its all ready for the big day!
I think we said 19th last year but even then around 10-15 of orders were delayed in post or expected stock did not turn up. And we tried pretty hard too.

My customers have the option of using 1st class recorded at £3.50 or special delivery for £5.50. I provide all the information as to last posting dates issued by the PO and the depots which are affected by the proposed strike and it is up to them how and when they order.
All I guarantee is that I will send it out the same day by whatever method they have chosen. They then have to take responsibility for the rest.
My husband keeps telling me that we sell clothes; we are not a parcel delivery company - so we can't guarantee anything!
Not all orders are for Christmas anyway.

We've set ours for 23rd for next day delivery via a courier before christmas. We havent set one for standard delivery or for small items due to the royal mail been slightly unreliable.

Eeekk!
Which courier are you using, and in particular what service? Most only have the expensive priority before noon or 9am services with a delivery on the 24th.

Sorry just read over my post and seen that i worded it different to what i was saying in my head lol. I meant we have set our final delivery date for 23rd, so any order have to be made ready for despatch on the 22nd for delivery on 23rd, that makes more sense.
I think City Link do a Christmas Eve delivery though, but as you say, it is certain timed services only.

Aren't royal Mail doing special deliveries on the 24th too?
Tomorrow is our cut off although we will still take telephone orders. This is simply down to the fact we will be too busy in the shop to check the site for orders after tomorrow.
