I want to give parents the oppertunity to talk to other parents, without having to watch the kids. Or just use it as a creche!

Sounds a good idea - I remember being a parent of a baby with colic as absolute hell and we could have sure used a support group at the time, and if you don't have relatives nearby it's a nervous time with your first kid.

Exactly my point, and if you wished you had a support group, there must me thousands of people out there who wish for the same!

And if it's a good idea and you get in on the ground floor, then if you trial one group and it's a success then you can use it to conquer the world!

People need to be clear what they are buying into tho, i.e. what your USP is, as you need to differentiate from your usual nursery/creche.

What are you going to call it?

USP = Unique Selling Proposition, i.e. what makes it special and why people should use it. It helps if the name supports your USP.

Bailey's Den sounds a good name for a nursery, but I'm not sure it sounds a parenting centre.

It is a question of what message you are trying to convey to the people you want to appeal to.

Oh, and you should check that the name is free for you to use - look for example at our website located at www.crossguard.info.

Thanks for that, what do you suggest then?

I don't know exactly what you are looking for, and I'm not an expert, but I wondered if something like "Bailey's Village" as the overall name might have the right sense of a helping community with "Bailey's Den" as the creche/nursery side of that, if you see what I mean.

I'm sure you can think of something better!

The more people you talk to the better, I think, especially people already involved in the sort of area you are interested in who might have ideas or be interested in lending support.

And if you want to start a new business, it helps too to visit your local Business Club or BNI (Business Network International) group to network with other small businesses locally.

A website can be useful too for creating an on-line community forum.
