I have been approached to attend a Christmas Fair on the 16th, very local to me. They have asked me if I will give a card making demonstration and if I do, I can set up my stall and display my items (and hopefully sell them) for free.

I have my stall all ready as I have been attending fairs and such regularly and so I have flyers and plenty of stock but I have never given a demonstration before!

I intend to take plenty of bits with me, so I can show different techniques, but am nervous about being watched and questions being asked. I am grateful for the opportunity but was wondering if anyone here has given demonstrations before (on anything) and can offer any advice?

I know this has been said many times before, but confidence is key. Secondly you have to remember the people who are watching will be generally interested as it's a fair and so assuming they are there by choice.

Anyone in the audience would feel the exact same as you do if they were in your position, so go up, be confident in your product and your demonstration.

I find it helps if you have practices again and again before it, but you do not want to sound monotone as if reading off a vidiprinter.

Hope this helps.
