Can a business or organisation have its own Facebook profile as opposed to page?

Not sure if it's against there terms of use but a number of local nightclub's have profiles on Facebook.

I think its most common for individual members to have their own facebook profile but then create a group for their business, I have done exactly this.

I have seen several company that have their own facebook profile but not sure if it is within the rules.

I think facebook is for individuals only.

what you can do, however, is setup a facebook page and group for your company to help raise it's profile. Other facebook users can then become fans of your pages or members of your group.

Plenty of businesses have a business profile for publishing to their business facebook page
