What’s the best value web art compilation, you know, the kind of thing that has 10.000 photos and 60.000 .wmf files?

I have wondered this myself. Can't help but feel that the bigger the box the poorer the overall quality is going to be.

I have found, for me at least, that it is better to search for specific photographs and pay the license (often very very cheap) to use them.

For more generat graphics, I usually search on the net for clipart using a few choice keywords but am getting increasingly irritated about the number of clip art directory sites you get which all cross reference each other. (It is as bad as trying to find the website for a specific hotel.)

What are the uses you have in mind in particular?

Try hemera.com - They have thousands of images you can use - stock photos and photo objects for $99 per year (About £65).

Hemera.com provide quite good quality stuff and you can actually browse before before you join - so you can get a good look at the images before making a commitment.

Alternatives are Getty Images and Comstock but these are very expensive.
