It is extremely common that the Moderators and forum Admins get asked the same questions time and time again. As we are all busy people with our own businesses to run please help to save time by first reading the Frequently Asked Questions by Clicking Here. (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_vb_user_maintain)

The Frequestly Asked Questions section contains very comprehensive information on almost all aspects of using these forums. However, there are some features specific to these forums which are not included there. These are;

1. Why can I not post a link to my website?
We put restrictions in place to stop people registering on these forums to simply post a link to their website and never be seen again. You need to have posted a minimum of 15 posts before you can post links to your website.

For some strange reason smilies and images also count as links, so you will not be able to post smilies and images in your posts either until you reach the 15 post count.

2. I am trying to post 15 messages but my posts keep disappearing.
Our moderators are very strict at clamping down on junk posts aimed purely at boosting the post count. If a new member is simply posting "me too" or similar other members are quick to notify moderators and the post will be deleted reseting the new members post count back down again. Contribute constructively and your posts will soon reach 15.

3. I've just signed up and cannot get into editing my profile.
You will not be able to edit your profile or create a signature until 24 hours after you make your first post. This is not actually intentional but is just a way the User Group permissions work, and may be resolved in the future.

4. None of my posts are showing up but I'm not trying to spam the forums.
If you have not validated your email address then all your posts are being placed into a moderators queue for moderator approval. Check your email and you should see an Activation Request from these forums. Carry out the instructions in that email and then all your posts will show up instantly.

5. How do I gain access to the Private Forums.
The private forums are reserved for certain groups. Some of these are free for anyone to join and are aimed at special interest groups, others are subject to a subscription cost while some are reserved for outside business groups who want to offer private forums to their members.

If your question is not answered in the FAQs or in the text above, then please post your question in the Feedback (http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51) section.

Hi,

Go to the introduction section at the top and click on that, then do a new post in there.

Welcome to the forum :D

The biggest problem I've had in the past was logging in.

I was entering the right username and password however it still would not let me in.

The solution given to me by TWDtony was to go to internet options on the Tools Menu bar and click on the delete cookies and delete files.

I can put any URL's in my posts and I can add a signature in my profile?

You will not have permission to post URL or have a signature as a new member. This is in place to stop many spammers abusing these boards.
Hang around, take part, and very soon your account will automatically be granted extra permissions.

I've put this in force on board now and its great! Has really cut down on the amount of people spamming the site.
