In a controversial move, Australia’s leading motor oil and lubricant company are launching ‘Start Ya B*st*rd’ instant engine starter to the UK retail and trade markets.

Nulon Ltd, one of Australia’s leading motor oil and lubricant companies have announced that they are to launch in the UK with their industry-leading instant engine starter, ‘Start Ya B*st*rd’.

The product helps stranded motorists start their failing engine through simple application and the name is inspired by the ‘Fawlty Towers’ clip where Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) utters the famous words at his car, which refuses to start.

The product can be bought at all good retail outlets and promises to help thousands of frustrated British motorists every year, who would have otherwise had to call breakdown recovery services – the RAC* state that December is the month when most breakdowns occur, as a result of the cold weather placing extra strain on a vehicle. A car is most likely to breakdown at 8.34am on a Monday morning, after leaving them stationary for the weekend. A large number of callouts are for faults Start Ya B*st*rd could have helped avoid.

Nulon were keen to move into the UK market as they felt that it was not being serviced adequately by current market operators and saw the vehicle market in the UK as a dynamic industry that they had a lot to offer.

The product has been used in Australia now for 5 years and was the main sponsor for Daniel Reed – Reed Racing, winner of the Australian National Drag Racing Series in the Start Ya B*st*rd* Altered Dragster. The product can also be used on agricultural vehicles, boats, motorbikes, lawnmowers, lorries and tools such as chainsaws.

William Findlay, CEO of Nulon UK Ltd had the following to say,

“’Start Ya B*st*rd’ is an industry-leading product that the British public will hopefully identify with and learn to trust. Consumers can expect to find the product on the shelves of their local Trade & Retail outlets by December at the latest, just in time for the coldest of the winter; the time when car engines tend to fail most.

“We hope that the family-owned Nulon brand; with its strong Australian values, will become a trusted automotive leader in much the same way as Down Under where the company was founded.”

Sorry if you read various different versions, I was having issues getting the format, language (did not realise you could not frickin say b*st*rd on here) and then found my title was over UKBF word count... a rather manic moment.

Moving on from my panic, thank you for the kind words, tis certainly a fun one.

Ha, brilliant!

I love it when people are brave with company/product names - would a Brit ever have gone with such a naughty product name? Doubt it. Gotta love the Aussies :D

Superb name - I love it - and the connection to Fawlty Towers just makes me smile more

Hope this isn't too off topic - though I always loved (the name) www.BigAssFans.com (http://www.BigAssFans.com) - a US retailer of large fans ...

Nice name :)

Out of interest do Australians get the same climate over there as we do with regard to the great British 8:34am wet miserable cold winter Monday mornings?

I remember when I used to work with my dad in the motor industry and use stuff like this to get things going, it is potent and does the trick but that was for mk1 escorts and the like. I'd be interested to know data on the average age of vehicles on the road these days, actually that might be a nice angle for you to work on.

Wow... turn my back for two mins and miss all the incredibly nice comments.

Thanks everyone...

I don't think the Oz population have too many problems at this time of year (sunny season) with damp in cars, but come the rainy season it can be an issue.

One of the plus points, for me at least, about the strength of the brand and product is the fact that if you break down in Oz in the wilderness, that's pretty much it, and this product can save your life. Doesn't get a much better road-test qualification for me - but of course, I am bias! :-)

Oh yeah, and it works on boats, tractors, and other shizzle, including Jet Ski engines.

Again, thanks for all the nice comments about the release.

"Demand" all you like in your report. According to Sift it's a brand name and therefore doesn't fall under the same rules.

Yes, this does mean you can start a company called "Duane is a ******" and then post it as much as you like.
