Hi,

My business is based in the UK and I don't usually sell outside of the UK, but I have someone who lives in the Czech Republic who is literally begging me to sell him a set of alloys, as he cannot get the brand/style of wheels in his own country. What I would like to ask is if anyone knows of any potential pitfalls selling to the Czech Republic. Also, I use PayPal so does anyone have any experience of using PayPal when selling abroad? Is it simple or a complete nightmare?

Many thanks,
Duncan

Hi,

I understand your concerns, but I think selling to CR is just like selling to other European Country. You will need to find out what's behind the purchase from UK, as I believe it's not the cheapest way for them - but if the product is niche or not available there - that's why they want to buy abroad. I am selling abroad using Paypal as well, but it works as normal transaction.

I personally would not use Paypal for foreign transactions unless totally covered by the seller's protection policy - I'm not up to date with it as I have deleted it in disgust from my system after another chargeback (from overseas) - I believe they have done away with the confirmed address thing?

The alternative is to get them to transfer the money directly to your bank account (common practice in Germany - maybe in CZ too?)
