Hi.

I am still looking at various internet merchant accounts and wanted to know if anyone knows any comparison sites with joining fees ect as this would be useful.

Or if we can start one up.

Hi,

I'm not aware of any comparison services out there as the offers and rates available to you will usually vary quite a bit depending on your projected turnover, goods you sell and trading history (at least they do for online merchant accounts from the major banks like ePDQ from Barclays or ePayments from HSBC).

I'm not sure how exactly services like WorldPay and ProTX work out their rates, but I'm sure they'll be able to give you a price pretty quickly.

I went with Protx and HSBC last month. HSBC were offering a free merchant account setup (normally about £250 I think) so might be worth checking to see if the offer is still on.

Protx is also free to setup.

www.electronic-payments.co.uk is more geared for payment gateway comparisons, but it is useful and worth looking at.

Is it on HSBC's site that the IMA setup is free ??

Is it some kind of promotion from HSBC? Suggest everyone to negotiate the pricing with your local bank's business manager. They are flexible :)
