Hosting in the cloud

Has anyone taken the leap and migrated their ecommerce site to cloud hosting?

One of our sites has outgrown the server its on. The obvious course of action is to move it to a little cluster. But I'm wondering if I'm being old fashioned. Should I be looking at cloud hosting? Is it mature enough?

Mosso from Rackspace is sounding good, but hardly a week goes by without stories of clouds failing.

So, any real experience?

We looked into this, check the specs, they do not offer a lot of the basics, but the scalability looks good. Its good that you only pay for what you need...
