Hi,

I have decided to start a Welsh Sports Store dedicated to selling anything related to sports in Wales, not sure that I have the design of the site right though, if anyone could please comment that would be great.

Many thanks

To me the black background is not helping you at all, you need some kind of border where the page ends, if not just use white.

Plus red on black text is not very easy on they eye, overall I would re visit the colours and make the left hand nav a bit more modern.

Just trying to help!

regards
Nick

Sounds mental to me! :)

Red and Green are obviously the colours to use and I like black backgrounds myself. I think the site looks nice, the page dimensions are good and its nice and clear.

You need some stock on there obviously :)

I agree but the css can be improved.. not the block locations talking about the colors only.

I tried out getting the backround color to #CCCCCC it was looking not bad to the eyes.. (needs adjustments to the blocks though)

Hiya

Its Memorabilia by the way :)

Not keen on the black myself, but that would work better if the images were larger so the empty black space was reduced, I like the idea of the flag background suggestion, the logo is currently a bit pixelated, the design is quite nice but needs to be a bit more polished so that it doesn't stand out as handmade.

When you edit colours and choose a custom colour you should get a box where you can enter a code in which is prefixed by a # (in photoshop, dreamweaver etc anyway)...the letters cccccc generate a turquoise colour

I just gave a shot by changing background:#000000; to #cccccc in your layout.css

It needs a lil time to just adjust the colors and all that. but i suppose if you are using a prebuilt theme and not a custom one, then better keep things as they are.. theme makers do the best combination of the colors while releasing their theme.

(in photoshop, dreamweaver etc anyway)

well said.. there are thousands of css editors available including freeware

One of the fellow shopkeepers on Internet Retailer (http://www.internetretailer.biz) runs a very successful online Welsh gift shop www.welshgifts.co.uk (http://www.welshgifts.co.uk)
