Sorry not sure where to post this but as I need to create a picture for my website, thought this might be a good place.
What I have is 4 items of clothing and what I need to do is to make a collage of them ie. stick them on top of each other in the same way that you do at www.polyvore.com (http://www.polyvore.com)
I have paintshop but only use it for basic editing functions.
Can someone tell me how to make a collage - I don't understand all the raster layers etc.
Many thanks!

Do you want to create a static picture or have the ability to move things around like the polyvore site?

Just a static picture made up of 4 existing product photos.

open up your image editor software (i dont use photoshop so cant tell u exact menu clicks)
create a new image (jpeg or gif) and make it the size u want.
open the image files you want to add to your collage.
open image 1 edit>copy
open your original image edit>paste and then use the move tool to place it/resize it where u want...repeat for other 3 images.
sorry its a bit fuzzy but I hate photoshop!

Unfortunately, I don't use Paintshop but, as Dave_n says, it should be straightforward enough following his instructions. Are the garments on white backgrounds already?

Thanks so much. I managed it - took me a while - I could never have done it without the instructions.
End result is here:

Absolutely. It can be quite daunting doing something like that for the first time. I have templates on my website that I use in Photoshop to do something similar.

Yes to do this similar to your example you need to overlay / overlap the items and the layers functionality in Adobe Photoshop would be your friend here

Yes changing the opacity of the layers to make the outside transparent would be a useful feature.
But photoshop is very expensive isn't it?

Yes it can set you back a few quid, but well worth the money. You would end up with a cleaner image if you were to run it through photoshop.
