Newsletter

I am launching a website in January. I would like to launch a holding page now at my domain name with a newsletter page. I will have several ad's going out with a link to my homepage. Until i launch in January i just want a page where the customer can enter their name and email address to sign up to my newsletter, so when i launch i can send out a launch newsletter.

I am expecting a good response before christmas so i would like the newsletter database to hold up to 1,000,000 contact details.

Can anyone help with this? What am i looking at spending just for this 1 page?

If you can do it yourself, and you have the server and hosting to handle that level of activity, download and install phpList. If you can't handle it yourself, PM me. I'll need to know how much you can do and how much we're expected to do and I can then cost it for you. I'll be asking pertinent questions about how your figure of a million is reached and how often you intend to contact them, too. That's an awful lot of bandwidth to be planning and pre-paying for unless you are reasonably sure you will use most of it. If it's basic contact details only, the database shouldn't be too big a resource hit.

I cannot do any of it! I'm looking for someone to do it all for me.

Is it possible to start with say 10,000 then and then when i get near that figure, increase it, and work my way to 1,000,000? It would work out cheaper to start like this?

Indeed. In fact you could start quite a bit higher than that, then build up. But a million is a very large number of emails. PM me with a phone number and I can talk you through how to go about it and keep costs down, both now and later when the numbers do get big.
