Good Morning Everybody

Could anyone give me an indication of what % of their annual sales an E Commerce site selling gifts does over the "Christmas selling period" and when do you feel that period starts and finishes?

Also do you all see an increase in the conversion % rate during that period when compared with the rest of the year - if so by how much?

Thanking you all in advance once again for your input.

Hi Alan,

In some markets its as high as 75% of annual sales, it really is the big event as far as most retail markets go. As I mentioned in a different thread, you used to be able to rely on sales picking up mid-October and enjoying the ride through to the end of February.

This year we're expecting the peak period to run from 21st November to around mid-January.

As people's budgets get squeezed its going to be a shorter more intense and more competitive period than ever before.

Definately a high percentage, and I do know of mums who have already started shopping for Xmas, mainly bargain hunting though.
