I am currently having my BT broadband talk VOIP number ported (transfered) to a different VOIP supplier.

The request was put in and a check made and it was accepted and advised the switch over would take place on Friday 12th Sept.

This didn't happen due to issues with BT.

The weekend came and went and on Monday I was advised that BT were still having issues. If you rang my number, it rang once then you got a disconnected tone.

It is now Thursday 18th September and my number is still not connected.

I could have potentially lost £1000's of pounds of business because my phone line isn't working, although it would be impossible to know. To make matters worse, I had just sent out a load of mail shots!

I appreciate that its not VOIP company's fault but BT's but my contract is with the VOIP company.

Is there anything I can do?

Many Thanks.

Fell for you Mike.

BT are a nightmare to deal with, over the last 6 months I have written and phoned in over 10 times just to get a breakdown for a bill, which has certain services on it that we have not used.

BT are a disgrace as a company, if I had the spare time I suppose I should get off my arse and find out who to complain to. Never again will I ever use them or any service that they provide.

Hi,

I have just read both your threads and I thought you may like to contact the Telecommunications Ombudsman, Otelo.

I must admit I'm not too impressed with BT’s service, when I applied for a 'Call sign' number for my business I was told that I would receive confirmation in writing along with the telephone number, this never materialised and it wasn't until I sent an email threatening them that I would contact Otelo that they eventually sent an email detailing the new number.

Best of luck.
