Have a look at RomanCart. Not free once you add some bells and whistles, but might do the job for you.

OsCommerce and ZenCart both have stock control along with many other great features. They're both pretty widely used so it won't be hard to find someone to install one for you.

Have you considered a bespoke Ecommerce website, not free, but once you have bought it, you dont need to pay any ongoing costs. (other than your hosting and domain renewals as with any website)
