Hi peeps
Ok, im currently designing my website on frontpage and it wont be long before i am ready to take the plunge into the ecommerce world of selling. I have done so much research and I think im going to opt for sitesell as the hosting company (however, someone has said 'why the hell them' but not given me an actual valid reason not to choose them) They seem to include alot in the hosting package to make your site work for you but im confused now with this one comment - Please anyone who can let me know if they are as good as they claim or any personal experiences would be most grateful.
kind regards
claire

Hi Claire
It might be worth having a chat with one of the web designer/developers on the forum to understand your requirements and needs a little better.
As for hosting there are a lot of solutions available which again a webby person should be able to advise you on.

Hi Claire,
It depends on what your requirements are. SiteSell to me looks quite limited on functionality, but that's just based of their website. I don't see any mention of the various plans, network, type of support etc.
If you are doing e-commerce, then it's best to choose a host that can respond promptly, has multiple support options and is able to cater to your business. What host qualifies for such a privilege depends on your specific requirements.
For example..
- How much webspace/bandwidth do you require
- What server side applications do you require (php, mysql, ASP?)
- What is your monthly budget
- What location would you like or where is your target market
- Do you prefer any particular web control panel? If not what would you like to be able to do via the control panel?
And such..
Choosing the right web host is something which should be carefully done as at the end of the day, they will be handling your data and you will be depending on that host to ensure your website is up and running allowing your customers to order without enduring slow page loads or server downtime..
If you have any other questions, or would like to discuss requirements with us, I'll be happy to assist :)
