Hi
After spending many years running a successful web development company, we got a little bored of wrestling with Actinic and other established e-commerce engines. So much so that we have spent the last few months creating our own.
The main idea was to ensure that we built a system that was simple enough for most people to install, but had enough power to cope with bigger business. Crucial requirements were that the overall system had to be lightweight, fast easily customisable with CSS and of course SEO ready.
We also wanted to ensure that the base system was not "bloatware" so rather than it having every last single feature crammed in, we decided that we will open the source up to other developers and designers who can make and sell their own modules such as extra merchant support, custom shipping and other extras. This means the system stays light, and the end user doesn't pay for features they don't want.
We launched the system officially last week and have so far had some very positive reviews from the web design community, but I'm really interested in the feedback from more businesses and shop owners.
So, please take a look at our site my username plus dot com and let me know what you think.
PS, I'd also love to hear from shop owners and ecommerce developers about what they really would like from an ecommerce engine. What would be your perfect feature list?
Thanks for your time.
Andy
