hi there, good to see another local search engine optimiser in the forums.
here's a basic tip to help you improve your new site (http://www.w3.org/QA/Tips/Use_h1_for_Title) ;)

You should probably work on your credibility a bit... The reports of your positions in your portfolio are not accurate, and they're not exactly competitive terms. Also, you might not want to have a link to a blog which 404s =)

sorry nass your right ...
unsecured homeowner loans is now 9th
king size beds showing 6th here
large business loans is now 2nd
results do fluctuate so they will never be 100% accurate
also king size beds .. is competitive and is one of the most searched for bed terms and generates over 100 uv's per day minimum
large business loans .. again its a niche and a very profitable one ..
1% commission of the loan value ( when loans start from £100k its not too shabby )
unsecured homeowner loans .. again .. niche and generates traffic ..
why would you target extremely competitive terms when the more specific search terms are teh ones that convert ?
example .. i did PPC for loans and also unsecured loan to my unsecured loans site .. guess what .. i had 4 leads in a few days where as unsecured homeowner loans generated over £3505 commission in a week !
( can provide screenshot of my account from affiliate marketing school and also the owner can verify it for you :) )
at the end of teh day they all get good traffic & generate commission
as for the blog yeah i removed it just forgot to update the site

Midlands SEO doesn't sound competitive. Do you get many hits for it? I see you're not number 1 for West Midlands SEO, so it's brave of you to turn down good advice, especially when 95% of SEOs would see that bit of advice as one of the very basics.

Ok...
It really doesn't take genius to rank for something you have the exact URL for. You should be #1 for all those. Your seo technique seems to be to put links at the bottom of pages :)
Now, kudos on you, you're buying exact domain names and making money through those. But please, it's not a professional SEO "service", it's opportunistic use of the google algo :)

actually your wrong the domain does NOT guarantee you a top rank ..
hence onlinehomebusiness.co.uk isnt #1 nor kingsizebeds
also buyingfirsttime.co.uk ... #1 for first time buyer..
hmm different domain ....
ive worked for multiple seo firms in the past and my work has been praised by emplyer and client
also take one of my older clients ..
i got officebroker.com from over 80 for the search term office space to # 5.. were #2 at 1 point !

ok mate, maybe you have some seo skillz...
how much money would you charge to put a random, well written and well coded splash page, up to number 1 in google, yahoo and msn for both birmingham seo and seo birmingham ...and what kind of time scale would it require?

This is the difficulty with promoting yourself as a search engine optimisation expert. It is so easy for people to pop over to Google and check.
I remember meeting an "SEO expert" at a networking event, coming back and doing the search, expressing similar thoughts and doing a little check on my own site to see if I could do better and I did.

SEO is one thing but turning visitors into customers is another which is the difficult bit in terms of SEO.
SEO is like a good book that you can't put down.
The only valid test for determining whether a keyword link passes value is to determine whether the keyword link passes anchor text.
Just a thought how many times do keywords "midlands SEO" get searched for.
Check them out at Google insights and see whether the hard work is worth it afterall.
