Hi All
Ive had a look through past posts but cant find any specific posts on paypal pro.
Has anyone used it, or have any links to pasts posts discusssing it
I saw the demo, but as with everything Id rather go with other peoples opinions first
Cheers

Integrating seamlessly does not mean it hides the gateway, it means it does not interrupt the flow of your site.
You do not mention the cart you are using, so how simple it is to actually integrate the code needed to implement it is unknown. If you can already see it as an option in your admin panel then obviously it is easy.

Hi Rob,
We are using paypal pro integrated with romancart's shopping cart and the only time you know its not on your site is when it is on the basket and the payment pages as this goes to romancart but you can make them look exaclty like your own site so the only time you know is by the address bar on these pages. But as far as paypal pro is concerned no problems at all just a small hiccup in the beginning. Take a look at all the w's.thehandlestudio.co.uk
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Mark...

We use PayPal Pro (in fact we were the first UK merchant to use it) for all our cc payments and obviously we also offer PP express checkout. We have a bespoke cart. As far as the customer experience goes, all CC payments are carried out on our site and there is no indication that this is powered by PayPal. Obviously if they click the PP express icon, they go to the PP site, but they are then returned to our cart payments page to complete the order. Works very well for us. You can have a look on our site at the last step.
[full disclosure: I used to work at eBay, which owns PP, 2 years ago and so know them very well. However that doesn't affect my view of the quality of PP pro; it's very convenient]

We have used PP Pro for over 12 months now, all though paypal doesn't seem to publish it there does seem to be some random issues here and there with cards being rejected due to system issues their end.
Customers input all details at our end and we pass them over SSL behind the scenes to PP Pro.
All though we are looking at dumping them by the end of the year, their prices per transaction are crap compared to going with a bank and then a merchant processing solution.

Yep. And daftly so with debit cards.
But good to start with until you get that the stage.
Virtual terminal thrown in. Some people would rather order and pay by phone. They think it is more secure - lol.
Some people have payment problems online and do not want to messing about but will still go for it if you contact them and say you take payment over the phone if they have had problems.

At the time PP Pro was the quickest to setup plus not to bad to integrate into our own systems.
PayPal is just greedy and they provide no fraud protection they don’t seem to care from what was said in my phone conversation with them about charge-backs.

I used them for about two months last year but they just couldn't solve the problem that debit cards weren't accepted. their rates are higher in any case, I pay much less using protx/Streamline.
When I cancelled the contract, they kept charging me the monthly fee for 3 months and every time I had to ask for a refund. They also asked me about three times why I left them, the last time being a few weeks ago!
So my experience, one to forget!
