Ne Business Magazines/Publications

I've been inundated over the past few weeks with calls from supposed publishing companies, trying to sell me advertising in their "leading business magazine" that I've never heard of.

I've respectfully turned them all down up to this point; however i'm curious as to whether any of you have any experiences with placing advertisements in local business publications, and whether those have paid off for you? And if so, which ones have you had a positive experience with?

So far, aside from the NECC Contact newsletter I'm yet to find a north-east-centric publication that seems reputable, so I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts.

I haven't found any advertising in magazines/papers to be rewarding, apart from the free business feature I had.

I have found that the only good way to approach this is ask for an advertorial as advertising in most of these business mags are aimed mainly for the big boys and that includes the price.
There seems to be a host of these mags springing up, time we saw them driven to being digital not paper driven as they seem to sit in the racks at most business centres till pulped
