Hello all :)
I just wanted to ask you about shoping carts for my website. Im just puting the finsihing touches to my website and thought a proper shoping cart would be better than a paypal buy now button. I created my website using Dreamweaver and its in Hmtl coding
I was just wondering if there was a shopping cart avaible that i could just wack it into my website without creating a template, php etc.
All feedback is much appericated :)
Take a look on hotscrripts.com. There will probably be a few plain html ones there which would work with Paypal or similar.

I don't think you've find anything alone those lines other than simple "buy now" buttons that go off to paypal etc.
A shopping cart isn't something you can easily bolt on to an existing site. Most packages will integrate a catalogue system with the cart so as to be able to show stock levels etc of each item, etc.

PayPal don't just do buy now buttons, they also have an external PayPal shopping cart (http://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/xcl/rec/sc-intro-outside) with add to basket and view basket buttons you embed in your HTML site.
Another supplier of an external shopping cart service is Romancart (http://www.romancart.com), another external shopping basket you can link to from a HTML only site.
Just be aware of the limitations of external shopping carts (http://www.awebapart.com/home/faq/Best_shopping_cart), they aren't the same as fully blown ecommerce systems.

free web shop dot org
A good free solution, easily customisable and integrates with Paypal automatically.
We used this for months before moving to a bespoke solution.
You will need hosting with a MySQL database and PHP though, but these are provided standard if you choose a good hosting company.
Hope it helps.

There are thousands of options on the market these days and in some ways you could just buy an off the shelf solution, or try to find your way through the maze that is PHP by using many of the customised options offered that in most cases are revamped versions of the main Free source programing.
My advice is always the same take time to talk to a few companies like ours and get advice as just setting up an ecommerce site is not the answer. When we build ecommerce we provide a high level of design, integration, advice and training for our customers and it works. Then it is down to spending to get the site into the system through SEO and ad words etc.
Get a few firms in to chat to and also get advice from some of the business advisors.
Remember if you aim to sell on the net you can guarantee someone else is already doing it so research your market carefully.

Thanks a bunch guys
Really have been a lot of help making my decision.
I'm most likely to go with Roman Cart, due to the fact it works well with PayPal and that it uses HTML coding.
Maybe in a couple months i will redo my website and will use a proper Php Ecommerse website.
Thanks alot Guys, it is very much appericated

We use Romancart integrated with paypal pro which works pretty well for us, we had a small hiccup in the beginning with paypal but as far as Romancart goes we had no problems at all. Good Luck.

Mark...
