You got me excited there. Unfortunately it is still there. Maybe your scam setting on your firewall is set too high ;)

First of all I would try using internet explorer and see if its the same. Secondly close your firewall and see if it could be that.

Is it only Ebay that is showing this?.

Well I got in: -

http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://www.ebay.com/

Something I learnt from me college days when they blocked every other page:D, but you can't log in to your account.

And STILL can't go straight to www.ebay.co.uk (http://www.ebay.co.uk)

Very Strange

If you've got the same trouble as me, It won't help. But you never know: -

- Start
- Control Panal
- Security Centre
- Then Turn Your firewall off

It could be your ISP. Who are you both with?

Dnallov
11th June 2008, 20:33
Yeah, paypal too! What is happaning! How come it's only us two :|

We should form a club

Serious though as I need to get on my eBay account, and also (more importantly) my PayPal hope something gets sorted.

Tell you what, if it is AOL, I'll go mad. I've had no end of trouble with them in the last month .

How can it affect just ONE website though, and in fact the whole company (eBay USA, eBay Uk, Paypal).

I hope it gets sorted tonight, I'm desperate!

Well if you think its your ISP then check youtube to see if it will allow streaming. This is a classic site that isps like to throttle often rendering it useless.

No, Youtube Videos are very fast, and smooth. But I'm fairly sure that it AOL, I phoned me mate, who's just down the street, he's also on AOL and he's also got the same problem.

I wonder if its a very clever filter?

My suggestion would be to get onto the net using a different location and empty your paypal first, then log onto ebay and take care of your affairs and then I havent a clue il think of something when we get to that stage, I hope its some glitch otherwise this is going to be intresting, lol.

I dont know if changing the MAC address and IP numbers will help and getting rid of cookies and all traces of ebay on the machine?

Dnallov
11th June 2008, 20:44
Yeah, it's back! Thank god

Strange, I can get onto ebay as mentioned, yet when i ping ebay I get request timed out.

If you are using XP goto start-> run-> cmd.exe and type ping ebay.co.uk
If you are using Vista either type cmd.exe in the small search bar or goto search-> accessories-> run-> cmd.exe and see what it returns.

Same here,

Request timed out
Request timed out
Request timed out

What does that mean? :D

Aol is terrible and worth getting rid of

As far as i know they are trying to get new users by giving away a laptop. Shows they are desperate :)

There have been some routing problems this evening on an important core switch in the UK. Emergency maintenance was scheduled for 8pm. Could well be related.

A traceroute should prove it or otherwise
