Has anyone out there ever used new new Paypal Pro payment platform on a osCommerce site?
Am looking to instruct a company to do this, but they must have knowledge of Paypal Pro and osCommerce for a quick install.

Payments pro is a completely different checkout system in two parts.
1. Express checkout, which allows customer to click one button on your cart page this sends them off to paypal where they can login to their account, after they review the transaction they are returned to your site where they can complete the order, all their contact details are filled in automatically on your site.
2. Direct payment - This is where the customer clicks your own checkout button, they never leave your site, they can fill in credit card details whilst still on the pages of your site. The payment is authorised ( or declined) whilst they are on your site as well. This makes it seamless and more professional.
With both methods you get an authorisation code for the transaction which should be saved with the order on your site.
We have just completed integration for Paypal Payments pro API for our own shopping cart system. They are launching a new API version next month that enables you to take both credit cards and Maestro cards, previously there was a US and UK version of the API
The old version will still work and I reckon thats the one you will be using with OScommerce because, and I have this from the Horses mouth at Paypal,
we are the first company in the UK to integrate our shoppingcart software with the new API.
