Hi,
I am a MBA (Finance concentration) student from top 30 B-Schools in the US. I would like to work in the UK after my MBA. I have 8 years of work experience and I would like to work as a Financial Anayst.

Please may I get some advice which companies in the UK to target for my Job search?

Thanks in anticipation
Regards
piyas

To be honest, my initial advice is "dont" - there has been a real downturn in the London jobs market over the past few months, with rumours of an impending recession.

Do you have CPA too - you'll find that most UK based companies would look for a recognised accountancy qualification (not including batchelor/masters degree).

As regards companies - you would be best advised I think to target the UK offices of US subsidiaries (or even better, get a job in the US and apply for an expat programme), however in general most London recruitment is done via agents, Robert Half, Michael Page, Robert Walters, Hays are all names you will doubtless recognise from your side of the pond too.

Good luck.

I'd concur that it's easier to get a job overseas with a company from your home country. I moved to the US by transferring jobs within a British company; you'd probably find it easier to transfer to the UK within a US company.

Don't be put off by all the talk of gloom and doom in the British economy. From the perspective of outsiders (including those in the US), it's actually one of the healthiest economies in the world, and Britain is an exciting place to be. The media in every country always portrays their own country as in economic distress, but it's often nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be.

Even if we do suffer a reccesion we'll always hit a boom afterwards, so during the upturn there will be plenty of jobs available, which will give you time to really search through the companies. try Price Water House Coopers, they go more towards Auditing, but if you really want to work in the UK, come over and visit see whats around express your interest, maybe arrange a few meetings.Good luck with it all!
