I've just got home from flyering. I was grabbed by a bouncer and told that handing out flyers would be bad for my health if you get what im hinting. I was flyering about 50M from the club which i thought would have been more than far enough for them not to hassle me. There was even a road between me and the club, not a busy road bust still a road! I could understand if i was giving them out inside the club or just outside the club but surely they have no right to start grabbing me and threaten to hurt me from that kind of distance?

Does anyone know the right i would have flyering somewhere like that. Is there a distance that i can legally flyer from? Do the bouncers have the right to start grabbing me outside the club?

I don't want to start going along the route of taking legal action, because it would be silly over such a petty issue. I'd just like to know where i stand when trying to promote in the future.

thanks

Nowdays most councils require you to have a licence to flyer hand to hand in the street, and also you would have to pick up the ones that are dropped. You could be prosecuted for littering if you don't.

So I can see why the bouncer was upset

no matter how upset he might have been he can't go around grabbing you.

What were you advertising on your flyer?

i was advertising another night at another club. which i know might get his goat up. but the distance was well out of the range of the club. its not as if he asked me to move away, he just grabbed me.....

well i think im still going to do it next monday. maybe get a mate on a cam so that i have proof of the aggy meat head.
