Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me. I am a new business the business was registered in Jan but the premises just opened on saturday. I wanted a coffee machine for opening day a company said the could supply me one and asked us to sign a contract and fax it back. I did this but the next day was told because we were a ltd they could not get finance. They gave me an option of buying a machine for 5,000 i said i had seen it cheaper than that to buy and would search the net for the best deal if they were unable to lease me. I was immediately told that i was tied into a contract and could not cancel it. I said that i believed i had a 7 day cool of period with contracts. I emailed a letter cancelling it forthwith and found a company that i could buy the machine off and had it installed on saturday. This evening i recieved a call from apparantly the boss saying that it was binding and they would take me to court and i would pay twice etc etc. I have looked at the contract and it does say that i cant cancel under any circumstances (is this legal?) there are other parts that seem to say the payments start when the machine is installed if i have not had the machine installed can they still enforce this on us.
Please help, any advice gratefully recieved
thanks
