Hello folks,

I'm in need of urgent help. I'm setting up a new (and its my first business) so I am rather inexperericed. Its an online business where customers hopefully can pay via the web or telephone orders using credit cards.

However, I've looked at worldpay, secpay and they all require online merchant accounts. The problem I have is that I don't have any trading history thus making it diffcult to obtain a merchant account. I personally have a bad credit history making it even more difficult.

Are there any companies which would allow me to set up an account to take credit card payments (excluding paypal). Don't mind if their charges are high as I would be able to transfer once the business is up and running.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, longwinded I know.

Welcome to UKBF!

I was all set to recommend paypal until the end of your post! Even just to get you up and running, helped by the 'virtual terminal' as part of the paypal pro option both on and offline payments would be covered??

Any specific reason you don't want to use paypal??

Regards,

Gordon

Gordon,

Thanks for the response, I have been told that payments via paypal can be suspended as customers can start disputes causing accounts to be frozen. Can You process telephone orders through paypal? Are there any other alternatives. Thanks
