After the recent mess with store2go I am wondering if anyone has heard of 'Mr Site' and their opinions of it?
Obviously looking elsewhere now, nothing has been decided 100% yet but looking at my options!
Thanks in advance!

I used to have it, they have since redesigned the way you design your site and I couldnt get on with it at all. I still have the account, might have to have another go.

Hi, I thought I would start another thread as it would have got lost over at the s2g page!!!
I am now looking at internetretailer, they look really good, just what I need! I would need a professional service though and simply can't afford £600 right now!!

I use MrSite, nice and easy to use. Bit Basic but you can always get Mr Site Pro for a bit extra which does a lot more. Check out the New Mrsite forum, you can get some feed back there

i use mr site for my website (www.fernhurstbookkeeping.co.uk (http://www.fernhurstbookkeeping.co.uk)), just the basic version. i dont really need the shop version so can't comment ..... easy to use and looks professional, in my opinion, and very cheap as well.

you might be able to do better, but you could do a hell of a lot worse!!

My only thought is that if the ecommerce side of things is important the lack of anything other than paypal may be a deal breaker.

I had a mr site website, but I've not used it for ages and am going to let it expire shortly. I think it's great for hobby businesses and for service businesses that just need to provide their info online, but it's quite limited for ecommerce. I haven't used MrSite Pro, but looking at the extra features I'm still not convinced it's suitable for selling professionally online - that's my opinion though, not based on experience.

Mr Site yes easy to create a site but not really an out and out ecommerce site, I have used roundcart and had good sales.

As E-commerce you do have a few options to use as payment gateways. Paypal is always on the side of the buyer and are not bothered about the seller, so we are now using 2Checkout (http://www.2checkout.com/community/)which are another payment method you might want to consider.

We have had no problems with them yet.

We are thinking of implementing Avactis on-line solution (http://www.avactis.com/) just woudering how many people would be interested, the price would be about £3-4 per month.

once bitten, twice shy!

You are looking at jumping from one hosted solution to another. Using an indepndant host and loading your own site can be simple and cheaper.

If you are thinking of going that the 'shop in a box' route again, make sure that:
- the site operates in a common platform, one where you can move the data and design easily, if there are issues
- you back up your data and templates daily
- your domain name is registered with a third party.

With Avactis there is a free version, we will be purchasing it and installing it on our servers.

Users will have full access to all the features and the mySQL PHPAdmin area to backup the Databases. If they are not happy then all they do is download the free version then install it on there new host, customers are not losing anything all they are paying for is the hosting a small fee for the packages we purchase.

- your domain name is registered with a third party. - IS A MUST - Never have hosting and Domain in same place.
- you back up your data and templates daily - People should always keep backups and not expect host to do it.

I hope you get a discount!!

From Activis site
The free version allows you to install the software on your server and test drive the Avactis Shopping Cart without making a purchase. Some of the functionality is limited, but none that would stop you from evaluating the product and making the right choice of shopping cart software.
Although it may very well be a totally working system, if you have an issue, will they help?

Yes they will help and they have a forum as well.

If you do have and issue then we have a forum and also have live support 24/7.
