Strange forum bevaviour today

I first noticed something was up when I saw that the two options at the right of the menu bar - Search and Quick Links - are displaced (they are a few pixels too low). When I clicked on Quick Links, the menu changed as if I was in Private Messages. Next, when I responded to a message, I saw a lot of weird characters - probably formatting codes. Even if I break my response into several paragraphs, my message is posted as one giant paragraph. (As an experiment, I'll post this message as three separate paragraphs - I suspect they'll appear as just one). Has anyone else experienced these problems?

I don't know about that, but the 'thanks' option wasn't there on some threads.

Hi Steve,

Can you let me know a little more about your setup. OS, browser etc... and ill see if i can get to the bottom of it.

I've got an idea about the displaced buttons... there are a few browser conditional bits of code keeping our layout consistent, perhaps some of them arent loading..

Hi Joe. I'm still having the same problems. I notice that it's only with my Firefox (v2.0.0.12) browser; everything's just fine when using IE. I'm using a laptop running Windows XP. If you'd like a screen-shot, just let me know.

Thanks Steve, a screenshot would be helpful. I have the same version of firefox here on xp so thats perfect for bug hunting.

I've created three images for you, but I'm not quite sure how to post them into this message. Can you PM me an email address? I'd be glad to send them to you.

By the way, maybe it's just a coincidence, but Reply, Reply to All, Forward, New buttons no longer appear in the email program I use to access one of my mailboxes (currently hosted by GoDaddy). Again, the problem exists only when I use Firefox; the buttons are there when I use IE.

I don't know what you did, but the problem went away sometime this afternoon. Everything seems back to normal regarding the menus.

Now let me post a separate paragraph to see if this works too.

Edit: yes, this works too. All fixed. :)

Hi Steve,

I'd love to say that i worked late into the night and fixed the problem but it seems to have resolved of its own accord. Ill PM you my email address anyway and have a look at your screenshots... in case something similar happens again :)
