Holiday entitlement

I'm a wee bit confused and could do with a pointer if possible.

Business link have an article on their website which says workers are entitled to 24 days of paid annual leave a year (in addition to statutory holidays), however the Working Time Regulations 1998 actually says four weeks, or 20 days of holidays. Anyone know where the 4 day increase was introduced?

Hi AdamJ

The annual holiday entitlement will be 24 days as of 6th April 2008 (pro rata for part-time staff). However, the new entitlement was brought in last October so in effect, employees were entitled to an extra 2 days from Oct 07 - Apr 08.

Also, the holidays will increase again to 28 days from April 2009.
