I wanted to post a note ragarding a company GOFOOTURSELF. If you ccome across this company's website be aware, they are selling COPY of brand shoes, i.e. gucci. The advertise in their web that its genuine but what you will receive will be a cheap badly assembled copy made out of sweat shop in China somewhere.

We came across many dozens of suppliers of fake, counterfeit and 'inspired by' fashion products when running our own online fashion business.

If you want a laugh, search eBay for any top fashion brands and see how many auctions use the word 'genuine' (which does not mean authentic) or mis-spell 'athuentic' in a desperate attempt to justify selling questionable products.

What can gofooturself say??? The are selling name brand shoes that are not the real thing, I was ripped off. They think that once people receive the fake products those people wont go through the trouble of sending it back, and will just say "oh, well..." and if you want to send it back for a supposed money back you are stil liable to pay for the postage of the parcel. Its a joke! I hope they get done....

If you are that angry about it, report them to Trading Standards.

I am curious though, why did you buy from them when they do not display an address, any business details and no telephone number?

Its a fair indication that any online shop that fails to display proper contact and business details are more likely to be less trustworthy.

To all concerned in this forum....

We have been made aware of one particular individual trying to disregard our company name. We belive this instance may be a result of petty international competitors trying to dishonour a reliable and honest UK company.

We have provided many happy customers a reliable service, we offer a full money back guarantee on all purchases in the unlikely event our customers should not be satisfied with their order and we belive this criticism is unfair and unneccessary.

We would kindly ask all concerned with the member who started this post and continues to provide negative coverage of our company is ignored, if any issues need clearing or further information is required we advise you contact us directly.

Out of interest, is there a reason that you do not display any contact details on your website even though they appear to be listed here (http://www.uksmallbusinessdirectory.co.uk/business-listings.asp?strCompanyName=Gofooturself) :|

The person moaning has contacted me at least twice using different
email accounts slagging the company off.

I can tell you for a fact that Gucci only have seven authorised retail outlets in the UK including Harrods and Selfridges and even they are not allowed to sell Gucci shoes online.

If your Gucci shoes are not counterfeit then at best they are sourced from a grey market in which case you are still breaking European law.

I'm somewhat neutral on this. I note that the main person criticising you is doing so from a pretty anonymous signup, and I'm not quite sure why that would be.

However, I can't help noticing that conspicuously missing from the above response from gofooturself is a clear contradiction of the central accusation. Are you prepared to state unequivocally here that the products being sold on your website are legal and genuine products of the big name brands that they purport to be?

Gofooturself - I have read this post and to be honest I don't know what to make of it. To clear up any misunderstanding I would do a few things:

Address the question raised about Gucci.
Confirm that all your products are genuine.
The op obviously has an axe to grind about something, we have heard their side, now give yours.
Change your website so it is compliant with the law by
Adding your address, company name and contact number.
Adding a privacty policy to your site.
Adding a specific terms and conditions page.I realise that as an e-commerce business you can't please everyone all the time and personally don't take much notice of one person moaning about a company I am going to use.

We had a case where a few customers thought we were selling things illegally,so to confirm everything I contacted trading standards myself and got them to have a look. This helped in 2 respects - it cleared up the misunderstanding with our customers (who later appologised and as far as I am aware are still shopping with us) and it put us in the "good books" of trading standards as they know already we are an honest company.

what I am saying is if everything you are selling is genuine and you are not doing anything wrong contact trading standards yourself.

i recently made a purchase off gofooturself, and then decided to investigate. to my horror i saw all this bad press.
i must admit, my trainers came today ( a little longer then i expected bt they came not the less ) and on first impression i am very happy.
i am totally awear these are fakes, ( only 5000 of each limited edition adidas shoes was made so its highly unlikely this site would have a batch of real ones lol ). everyone with half a brain cell knows that unless your buying from a registed brand shop i.e jdsports, footlocker etc..., internet shops selling clothes and trainers at unbelievable prices are not selling genuines (sp)

the trainers at a glance look real but on a close inspection you can see faults, bt im not fussed with that =)

my point though is everyone seems to give this and other shops bad reviews for selling counterfit goods but what do you expect, no one would buy if they said the goods were fake. it just takes common sense to relise that. at the moment then im giving credit to them as they have fullfilled my wants..................HOWEVER!

i shall comment back shortly ( maybe a month or two) for an update on how well these trainers last. untill then people, use your head abit when buying, obviously small internet shops are selling fakes, just like market stools do. theres no point moaning about something that blaitently obvious.

thanks ,

chris

slightly concerned by that comment, if these are fakes then people need to know that. Some people are spending hard earned cash thinking they are buying the real deal.

However, putting my cynical hat on - new poster, no previous posts - is this the same guy complaining before?!

I'm fascinated by his knowledge of "market stools" and what they sell. But you do get a lot of crepe on markets I suppose.

hi everyone new to the forum :).
Im looking for some advice on a getting my money back from gofootyourself. I made a purchase for a pair of ugg boots on the 1/12/08 they then took £69.99 on the 3/12/08. On the 15/12/08 i recieved a despatch email waited till the 22/12/08 but no delivery so i emailed them and they said that royal mail tried to deliver them on the 17/12/08 and that they got no reply so they have been sent back to sender. I had no card from the royal mail telling me to collect from the sorting office or anything. I emailed them again on the 30/12/08 saying that i wanted a refund (as i was so fed up and they were a xmas present after all) and they told me that would be fine and that as soon as they rcieved them back from royal mail they would refund me. Its now 2/01/09 and still nothing:mad:.Thing is i never even recieved them so why do i have to wait? And im sure royal mail would have got them back to them by now.. I would be very greatfull for any help.

Would be interesting for a mod to check ip's on the posts as mentioned earlier..

Anyways, address details for gofootyourself are (according to publicly available whois data)

DoYourOwnSite Limited
56 William Allen Lane
Lindfield
Haywards Heath, West Sussex RH16 2SU
GBwhy its not on the companies website, which it should be for a ecommerce store in the UK, I dont know..

Although, I think that is probably the address for the company that they probably used to get a tool to create the site. So it is probably not address required, although I could be wrong.

If anyone has proof counterfeit goods are being sold, then as well as the correct legal channels (trading standards, police, whatever) they could also report it to the address on the whois, as surely any company hosting the site would not want to be hosting anything illegal.....

ha ha ha ha, classic!!!! Oh my lordy I've never read such a load of bull in my whole life!!

I've read through the whole of this thread, and it's soooo obvious that either someone or some people are blatantly trying to knock the credibility of this site!!- It's quite funny really.

My 2 suggestions would be:

1. The instigator/s should realise their game is up!- Unless their just having a laugh, then keep on going and I can have a laugh too.

2. Don't anyone buy anything from that site!!- It's tosh!! I'm not talking about the product, I'm just talking about the site itself. Looks like the sites been made in a sweat shop in China, never mind the products.

It's a shame really because the name "Gofootyourself" is really good and deserves better!!

I never had a personal dig at Richyharv, I just think this whole thread smells a bit fishy, as I expect others do!

If you want me to be personal, then I think the instigator/s would be the op and beadle05 (could it have reference to Jeremy Beadle ha ha).

Anyhow, I wont be wasting anymore time on this thread, so let the banter continue.........

In all fairness, Royal Mail may not have got the parcel back to them yet.

Has the company given you a tracking number so you can check it yourself? If it has then check it. If the RM site says it has sent them back then give it at least another week. Speaking as a retailer, we have similar situations and it can take a while for the parcel to get back to us. However it may be your order is actually still at your sorting office, have you checked? I've lst count of the number of times when the RM site says it has been retruned, but it is still at the sorting office.

If you still have no joy then get in touch with your credit card company and start a chargeback.

Presumably you received some kind of invoice from them when you made your purchase?

On this invoice, does it reveal their Ltd company name (if any) or even their full address etc.

If not, what appears on your bank/card statement as the name of the company that debited your card?

Can your card issuer tell you the name of the company that they authorised the transaction for.

With the name of the company, if it's a Ltd company you can check on the companies house website for their incorporation details including names and addresses of directors and so on.
