Have you done a lot of link exchange?

Some time people may click on thwebsites that you have link exchanged with and close it becuase there are hundred of links on that page. So within a split second they looked at your page and did not like the look of it so closed it.

Or it could be a bot that is checking your site for a link.

Or a bot doing whatever it was programmed to do.

Not from link exchange.

But I think I have cracked it. It is when they bounce so a second page is never viewed - but they may have been looking at that one page once downloaded for hours on end

Bots don't register as hits on GA because they don't run the JavaScript required for GA to register a hit.
