Thank you
How good is business listing(s) in the UK Business Forums Business Directory?
Does it get many hits and referrals?

I don't use that and to be honest I think there are a few problems with it. As I understand it the directory is currently being reviewed for a bit of an overhaul.

The main advantage for me for full membership is the Private Forum where you can discuss things that you may not rather have on the public record and visible to Google etc..

So is it worth the money just for the extra forums?

It really depends on how you are going to use it. I think most people think it's good value for money.

I will be honest, I didn't pay for mine. I have a free year as I was here a long time before the paid membership was introduced.

Its worth it for the extra forums but also for the traffic you'll recieve from having a link in your signature... plus you get more pm inbox size which is useful...

I've moved this thread to Feedback and Help - which is where its best to post questions like this.

As others have said - it depends on why and how you want to use the forums - but you do get links in your signature, can use the private forum to discuss sensitive issues you don't want indexed by search engines, can ask for a review of your website and other benefits. See the links in my own signature for further info or you are welcome to ask me more.

And welcome to the forum!

If we're only using the forum as a good source of information and advice - are there any real benefits to full membership?

Now that tenders has moved to private forum it has no value anymore. It was free to access when in public forum and there was lots going on, and now its in private forum and dead as a dodo by previous comparison. That's not worth paying for if you want to find business but you can post jobs and tenders and view your own results for for free.

The sig helps however, if people really want to view your website and get your details they can view your profile. But let's face it, if someone is seriously thinking of spending a large amount of money on web design and development then they are likely to be diligent in checking you out and not be the type that cant be bothered to view your profile if you dont have a link in your signature, though of course the more visibility the better of course.

The privacy in private forum is also useful, so it isnt googled and read by everyone, same with website review forum. The directory made no difference for me. Maybe it will improve this year now its more visible for searches.

As said before, it depends what you want from the forum. There's no rush so take your time and see what pay up when you want to access those things you have to pay for.

If all you want is a good source of information and advice then paid membership is unlikely, at this moment, to be of any benefit to you.

However it is worth you trying out the forums and you can obviously choose to be a member at anytime you wish so no rush:)
