Hello,
I am starting a new business that will assist international students come and study here in the UK. the students will pay a set fee to me. i have thought about getting a contract put together between my business and the client about what they will pay me and what services i will offer in exchange. this is because i am going to offer a 50/50 split in fees so half at begning and other half when they are here in the uk.

how should i go about this, do i need a solicitor etc please advise

thanks

It sounds like a fairly complicated agreement, so yes, I'd talk to a solicitor about it.

Make sure you choose a solicitor who specialies in contract law.

I have known contracts been thrown out of court and the person has had to try and sue the solicitor.

Before going too far think about how enforcable any contract might be with an overseas client. How would you seek redress? could they pay? if they do not want to pay or renage on the contract what could you actually achieve?

You can have the best contract in the world but if you can't actually get redress, its a waste of time and money.
