I know you are trying to promote the blog so that people use the platform here, but there's a great vB add-on which allows you to add your RSS feed and then it shows your most recent post on the sidebar near your member name etc.
Any chance you could implement that here?
I find it interesting new blogs, and it'll be a good way for people to promote their blogs on here.

Darren, really sorry, your original message must have slipped by us unnoticed.
It sounds like a good idea, and we're always up for adding new features - any other views out there?

Well I can only see positives in this idea

/me like that too. What would be even cooler is if you could import posts from your external blog but I can see that being abused.

Nice idea Darren :) would save the need for members to replicate their blog post content into the UKBF blog system as such.
I have seen on a few forums a vB feature that allows the latest blog title to be added into the postbit, so instead of "Blog Entries:3" it would say "Latest Blog Entry - Title of blog post". I'll try and track down the forum I've seen it on, think it was a fairly big site, so should be a fairly standard add-on/plugin.

Your most recent post is a great idea!
We post on average 3 times a day on our blog though so if there's a possibility we'll overload the other blogs I wouldn't want to annoy people...

It was on DigitalPoint that I had seen it, although now looking into it, it seems to be on a number of vB forums. Here's a thread where a few members have 'Recent Blog' links - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=713402#post6623032
I have posted a message at vBulletin.org to see what mods are available, from my quick search around there doesn't seem to be one mod thats leading the pack so to speak.

Oh yes - recent post from your external blog would be really cool :)
