Hi everyone,

I have officially launched my website this morning and i am looking forward to the next few months. It's true what people say, everything gives you a buzz from getting your url registered to my first order which I got prior to launch. I just want to thank everyone here for their continued advice and support and I hope I can repay the favour.

I have been making the website and getting it to look like it is now for around 6 months. I started it just after I graduated from university. Any comments you may have would be great. I know I did ask for reviews a while ago and I had a great response to that!

To thank everyone I am offering a FREE competition to win an adorable posh bear. Please see the website for more information. And for UKBF members I am also offering a discount code which you can find in UKBF offers!

Cheers everyone! (Clatters a pint glass)

Darren

The website is www.tots2kids.co.uk (http://www.tots2kids.co.uk)

Well done and Congratulations, hope all goes well. :DDon't forget things will always develop on a website, just like any business, so what works now or looks good now, may not in the future - just don't be too critical on yourself. Doesn't bear thinking about how many times ours has been re-done and as we speak is being re-designed again!!
Wishing you all the best:D

I like it - congratulations on the launch! :)

You may want to add another article? That section looks a bit like advertising to a consumer at the moment. Not a criticism and hardly your number one priority, more a passing comment on a good site! :)

Well done Darren!
You've worked really hard on the ideas for the site and I'm really glad to see you're up and running, I bet you can't wait for your first order, I remember bouncing around all over the place the day I got mine :)

I am not sure about your delivery charges option but you may have looked into that more and made the right decision. I tend to like simple pricing so £3 per order or whatever.

I have a wide screen laptop and hate these narrow sites that sit in the middle or edge. Many now expand to fill the screen. It also makes me think it is a bit of an amateur site - even if it is not - because they often actually are so the others get tainted. Looks like it is 800 wide - probably to late now but I think you could have designed for wider and ignored this old width restrcition.

The thumbnail images are not sharp. Barbie watch - enlarged image superb - thumbnail !! This seems true across the site.

Good Luck.

I agree with that, try to get some better quality thumbnails, pictures sell products!

Do everyone agree with the delivery by weight? I have displayed the exact delivery price on every product page.

Are the pictures really that bad on the site? I am using a combination of stock held and dropshipping you see.

We got so feed up with messing around with delivery we just put free shipping on everything!

I would say some of the pictures do need changing, they should be perfect and they are quite a way off that.

Changed a few images. Looking at the pics, all give a clear image when enlarged and thumbnails are fairly good. Will take another look at them again when i have more time!

Orders are slowly coming in which is great!

I see a lot of people registering for the competition! Good luck guys...

Hi Darren,

Your site looks really good, very professional and trustworthy. Do you have a newsletter opt in? Similar to the competition, it's a good way to collect future customer contact details to keep them informed about current offers, etc.

Hi Al,

When you register on the site you are also choosing to opt in on the newsletter. You have the option to opt out clearly displayed on the members pages. I need to just find out ways to market the page next. Glad you like the website. Don't forget the free competition! :)

Also I have a discount code for UKBF members. Enter 'FirsrClick' at the checkout if you were interested in purchasing anything!

Nice site good luck with it

I want to ask you a question as I notice you saying you were part drop shipping.
This is what I tend to do on my site www.sportingdesires.co.uk (http://www.sportingdesires.co.uk/) (not finish yet)

My question is more with postage as I have stock in 12 different places
Which I will be selling, i can buy stock in but I was going to buy little bit to run a promotion
but wait and to see the best selling items. and decided from there

I was wandering how you are doing this if you dont mind me asking

Regards,

Stephen

Hi Darren,

Congratulations, I'm glad the orders are coming through :)

Thought I'd make one comment though - I actually found it hard to locate the links within your home page text because the main text is blue and the links are black! This is the opposite to most websites so I found it a bit strange.

It's a nice warm-looking site though so I'm sure you'll do well.

The text is now black :)

Thanks for the comments, i'm still trying to establish my place in the market but obvious it is a new business!

Nice looking site - good luck with it.

- but please change your stationery link - I was taught 'e' for envelope to remember the correct spelling - stationary is not moving!

It's almost a month since that post announcing your launch, but I'm new and I've just seen it tonight...It looks good.

I hope your first month has been good, and gets better from here.

Congratulations,

Tom.

Thanks for the comments,

However, do you want to expand on the stationary link? Just to make it a bit more clearer. I see your in the same sort of field, how's business?
