A close friend has recently asked me to review his new gaming site - www.snaptease.com

I'd like to invite any comments. He knows he is competing in a very difficult market (with a small budget) so any tips would be gratefully received.

Comments regarding the general concept and theme and how best to market the site would be very useful. Please have a go at the games too, use "Review" (No Quotes) for 5 free credits.

We are thinking that we really would benefit from the whole site being free to use until such a time as we have a decent user base. Again any ides gratefully appreciated.

Thanks all

Instantly I would say there is too much advertising.

I looked, it looks like a scam site trying to sell something dodgy.

Remove the ads initially and keep it clean and direct :)

My 2p worth :)

Had a quick look, Nice looking site.

Loose the ads down the side, if you must have them at least use static pics.

Drop the scrolling text, looks a bit cheap.

Interesting comments about the ads - we thought they would have the opposite effect as they are well respected brands.

The ads are not going to generate a lot of income but we thought they would develop more trust in the site as they are big brands.

Do you think static ads or smaller ads or as PrettyPaws suggests no ads at all and why?

martynb what exactly do you mean by Slow from my side... is it just not doing anything for you?

thanks all

You're joking right? Ads do nothing to help trust, not many trustworthy sites have ads taking up every inch of space like your site has. If they aren't making money for you drop them, it looks very bad. In all reality it just makes people think you aren't making enough from your business, which makes you look very small time.

thanks PrettyPaws appreciate the strong opinion on advertising. Believe it or not I was serious! Anyway this forum is all about learning.

Not sure I totally agree with you though I do agree that the ads should be scaled down. Is it generally accepted that ads don't contribute to trust or is that a personal opinion?

Hiya! Sorry didn't mean to sound harsh.

I've never heard of adverts adding to the "trustablity" of sites though. The sites with the most adverts in my opinion are generally spammy rubbish.

I think affiliate ads etc are great for community websites where you arent deemed as a business.

A business website should NOT reply on adverts like that. As mentioned above, them imply that you are trying to scrape a few pence in.
