Hi,
I currently have a problem with waste from a nightclub.

The council will take away glass bottles for free but the police have asked us to use plastics so we now have over a cubic metre a week of plastic (disposable glasses and PET bottles) that we must pay to have removed and the coumcil then dumps in a landfill.

The bill for removal of this waste is running at £3000 P/A

I am looking to find a recyclig company willing to collect the waste which could be left as mixed plastics/cans or separated if neccecary. Does anyone know a company I could contact?
Location is South Wales
Thanks
J

Not got a clue but you could try contacting you nearest freecycle webgroup owner as they may know a company to try else ask them to post a note asking the same question on the site? www.freecycle.org

You might be able to sell them on ebay - there are always artists making things out of people's rubbish - you might actually make money from them! lol

Hi all,
I didn't mean to look igronant with the reply but i am able to help move plastic, and try to keep the costs as low as possible, although i am in South Wales i can get card and plastic sorted around most of the country. PM me if you have any questions, and i'll try and help.

Have you tried searching your area's local yellow pages. I am sure there are local recycling companies in your area that can provide you such service.

Do you have any space on your site, where you could store and, ideally, bale the material?

Try Smurfit-Kappa http://www.smurfitkappa-recycling.com/

They kindly supplied a crusher at our premises for our co-pack operations. They then pay us by the tonne and collect FOC.

The bottles that contained oil should be brought directly to your local transfer station, as they are considered hazardous waste. Look up your county and transfer station on Yahoo search to determine where it is located. While you're at the website, see what types of plastic they accept and check the bottom of the shampoo bottles for the number in the recycling logo to see if they qualify for recycling.
