Hi,

This topic sort of crosses betwen e-commerce and general busines but i will post here first.

We are offering brand champion opportunites for our watersports technical clothing lines which work in the following way.

We support the individual or team with clothing from our range in exchange for advertisement on their boat etc.

We give them a dedicated discount code for the site which they in turn give to interested parties they have found through their promotion.

The new customers place their orders using this unique code so we know where the sale comes from.

We want to reward our brand champions when reaching say 10/20/30 sales and onwards.

We are looking for information on what people would expect as an affiliate payment for this kind of scheme.

We are finalising deals with a few parties now and dont want to be to unreasonable on our terms nor do we want to give away too much !

What is the industry norm or is it more a case of you pay for what you get ?

Thanks in advance

Kevin

Earl,

Yes that is our site.

We are the sole UK & European retailer & importer and will be heading to UK distributor level once we have built up the brand awareness.

Hi Kevin,

Give away what you can reasonably afford. We used Affiliate Futures a while back, a different type of affiliate promotion but we did get significantly more affiliates promoting our products when we increased our commission on sales.

The idea of stepping commission or rewards on the volume of sales is a good one, it just comes down to what you can afford to give away for your best selling brand champions, then work down from there.

Hi Dave, and ofcourse eveyone else!

I am currently thinkiong of joining Affiliate futures to promote my website. I have been trying to get some reviews and thoughts of people who have used them before. Its alot of money for me to pay out but im hoping its going to be worth it.

Any comments you have would be great!

Hello Paul,

We use Affiliate Future and they are excellent. Though I've not been on one myself, the Merchant Training Sessions look very valuable. Have you spoken to them about the set-up fees, as we didn't have to pay for this though this was a few years ago.

hi

Thanks for the reply. At present theyare charging £500 for setup, which compared to others is cheap but still alot of money to me.

I must admit that in the conversations ive had with them they are extremely helpful! they have already pointed out ways to improve my site and given me lots of ways to increase conversion and all i said was im interested in joining. It is good to know that others have had success with them.

Thanks for your help

Many thanks
