Hi everyone

I've hardly had time to breathe recently since launching, so haven't had much chance to check the boards, but I would really like to ask if anyone uses a company like e-on, Ecotricity or Good Energy instead of eg. British Gas?

I want to switch but don't know where to start in terms of what's reliable, not a lot more expensive etc. Also this sounds bad but I don't have time to spend hours researching, and would really appreciate personal recommendations, as I always think these are better than reading the spiel on company websites.

Any personal experience with green energy companies would be great - what you like/don't like about them etc.

Thank you!

Tara

There is an excellent article about this on Green Girls Globals a fantastic green blog, (if I do say so myself) which discusses the pros and cons of the green options. I can't post a link yet but if you go to green girls global and do a search for green energy providers there is an article entitled 'Thought for the day' which provides lots of useful info.

Hi Giftgirl,

I haven't used them myself but here are a few places where people have posted their reviews. I'm not allowed to post URLs yet, you'll need to add w w w before each address.

On the Green Energy Marketplace, Ecotricity and Green Energy always come out top. We've just switched to the former from Juice but it is too early to give an opinion.

Unfortunately to understand the difference between these and other suppliers you have to have a crash course in how the UK energy industry works...
